Versailles and a Chateau and Paris; Oh my!

A trip this May/June is turning out to be quite the event!  We are starting with a party in the Hall of Mirrors in 18th century costume with friends from Antewerp.  We also have gotten to know one of the curators at the Palace and are looking forward to a private after hours tour!

Then off to Southern France to stay in our friends Chateau.  First they said we weren't staying long enough and now they want my decorating advice; better bring the gold!

Next off to Paris where we will be meeting with our friend who has taken over the leadership of the Louis Vuitton flagship store on the Champs Elysee; looking forward to a private tour and also hoping to make it out to the LV Maison (very exclusive).  We've then are being hosted for the 30th anniversary of Diner en Blanc; can't wait to see the venue en Paris!

We end our trip in Belgium where we are meeting with a show designer to discuss my show design with 18th century images on it.

You know, no biggie :)!

Toronto Fashion Week and Toronto International Film Festival

So excited to be attended the TFW Pink Tartan fashion show and closing night Gala as the guest of Retail Insider.  Also thrilled to be at Maison Moet as their guest as well as attending the Dom Perignon brunch as their guest.

Going to be a crazy few days!

So honoured to have been asked to be one of the celebrity judges for Vignettes; a celebration of fine design.  I will be reviewing 10 vignettes that teams of four people have created to determine who should win.

Derby Madness!

It was rather flattering to see my image literally everywhere for this year's Derby; jumbotron, Facebook, Website, billboards, elevator doors and even on a car.  So it was only fitting that Northlands hosted myself and 3 friends in a luxury suite and asked me to be a celebrity judge for the outfit competition!

A Peacocking Bowtie

How cool to have a bowtie designed in your honour and named after you!  Best part was she picked the fabric before even meeting me.  Now that's kismet and VIPness!

Veuve Clicquot 160th Anniversary

We were so honoured to have been part of the sixty people invited to the exclusive celebration of the 160th Anniversary of Veuve Clicquot's arrival in Canada.  Best part is that we were the only two invited from Western Canada.  The day started with a champagne breakfast in a chartered train car from the 1950's as we traveled from Montreal to Quebec City.  We were then greeted by a red carpet at the Chateau Fontenac for a champagne lunch.  The evening started with a champagne reception, followed by a recreation of the dinner served to Queen Elizabeth in 1956 with a Veuve Clicquot pairing.  Evening ended with a champagne party.  Very VIPness!

Had a blast as the guest of Veuve Clicquot in Montreal as we celebrated Halloween in the oldest restaurant in Canada; Auberge Saint-Antoine.  The theme was Dracula, so we decided to do Dracula Diva and there was a never ending stream of magnums of the Widow that night!

The Regency Ball

Was honoured to be hosted by Regency Encounters for the Regency Michaelmas Ball.  Fun to channel my inner Mr. Darcy!

Luxury Car VIP Party

Thrilled to have been asked to be the guest of Veuve Clicquot and Jet Set Crew for the Luxury Car VIP party held in Van Dusen gardens in Vancouver.

Celebrating The Widow!

So honoured to be included amoung the 60 influencers and VIP's from across Canada invited to be the guest of Veuve Clicquot for the 160 anniversary celebrations of the Maison starting in Montreal and then moving to Quebec City. The President of Veuve Clicquot is flying in from Paris and hopefully we can reconnect when we are back in Paris next year.  VIPness baby!

86th Annual Canadian Derby

Thank-you Simons for inviting me to be your guest at the VIP party for the Derby.  Great fun to get to dressed up and see all the wonderful hats!

That's Rich

So happy to have been one of the 12 people invited to the Veuve Clicquot Rich Champagne launch. Love the name; the latest from The Widow! ‪‎

Let Them Eat Chocolate!

Jacqueline Jacek asked me to work with her team as they develop their fall line of chocolates; The Marie Antoinette collection; I'm thrilled. Not only is this one of my favorite periods but Jacek chocolates has a reputation for their unique spin on flavours and designs for the traditional chocolate.

I talked to the team about the looks, sights and smells of this century of decadence and the sumptuous court of Louis XVI. Powdered wigs in purple, orange and of course white smelling of oris root and lavender.  The use of lace which was very expensive to display wealth. Fans which were carried by both women and men not only for cooling purposes but used in the language of love. Beauty marks which were originally used to cover scars left by smallpox but soon became a fashion statement.

Jacqueline and I had great fun doing the photo shoot for the chocolates and I can't wait for my powdered face and high heels to grace the promotional materials and packaging for these confections!

Gotta Dance!

Got talked into entering a dance contest on a cruise we're on by the super fun cast who kept pouring me champagne!  Won the contest and ended up dancing in the final show. There's rumours of me dancing again with the cast before the judges of Dancing with the Stars.  Guess my days as a hoofer aren't over!

Talk Radio

Many listeners to UP 99.3 radio know me as Randall International Man of Mystery, so I was super excited to be asked by Lynda Steele to appear on her new talk radio show starting in September.  I'll be doing half hour segments and talking about, well everything and you know I'll have an opinion.

A Night with Royalty

When we were invited to attend a party with the Maharaja of Jodhpur and stay in his palace is was just too good of an opportunity to pass by.  Having my article picked up by Chic Metropolitan and published in their Billionaire issue wasn't too bad either.  Just attended the launch party in San Francisco.  We rocked our outfits!

Bon Voyage!

For years I have worked as an unofficially Travel Concierge for friends.  Was just asked by an upscale travel agency to partner with them to help promote luxury travel.  I of course said yes but would need to become familiar with the destinations, etc so if I have to go on a few free trips I will; I'm a giver.  Oh I have to have champagne when I work; especially love Veuve Rose!

Birthday Party Number 3

For the final installment of my Birthday celebrations, I gathered friends from other cities in North America and Europe in Venice for an 18th century celebration in a 17th century palazzo.  I did a talk on this most fabulous of eras, a harpsichordist did a half hour concert, I did a small show of some of my favourite songs and then taught everyone the minuet.  There was a painter from France capturing guests portraits and a photographer there to take a fabulous salon shot of the guests.  You only go around once, but if you work it right, once is enough!

A New Show!

After 2 years of hard work, and keeping a big secret, I am super excited to announce that Mosaic Entertainment is producing a show around the life of, well, me, entitled "VIPness".  We start filming the pilot for this series in which I will be starring in this weekend.  Then myself, Darcy, friends and the crew will be heading off to Venice to capture the fun of Carnevale and the decadence of my fourth and final birthday party in a 17th century palazzo.

So stay tuned for more information and watch for some VIPness!

Birthday Party Number 2

For the second installment of my celebrations, it's a party in Vancouver on New Year's Eve for friends there. Dress code; Dress to Impress with a touch of Gold.  We served bubbles in gold bottles in gold champagne glasses which the guests got to keep.  The food was all wrapped in 24 kt edible gold and of course the place was filled with gold balloons.  Connie Smudge did a fabulous show and Micah Dew did a great performance mixing a new cocktail for 2015!

Birthday Party Number 1

If one birthday celebration is good, three is even better. So I decided this birthday to have my first celebration in Edmonton for friends there.  Theme; Russian Empire - Louis XIV meets Catherine the Great - I'm convinced they are my Grandparents.  Dress code for the party; Black Tie and Fur.  The event including an outdoor cigar bar and Vodka Ice Bar; Beluga Vodka imported from Russia of course, a Lily of the Valley Faberge Egg cake and an opera singer doing Russian and French pieces and of course an aria about champange!
