Had a great time planning this surprise birthday party for a gentlemen who was recently awarded the Canada 150 in 150 award celebrating those who are keeping Canada's heritage alive. He's known as the Canoe Doctor and restores vintage canoes, so of course that had to be theme of the party. I'm very pleased with how the table turned out and for the bar we are using the canoe that he sailed on July 1st for Canada's 150th. Even got him a canoe hat from Hudson's Bay to complete his outfit when he walks in the door. Plus you have to love a client that serves you Veuve Clicquot while you work!
We love to travel & the fun is the planning. Eight months of building our 28-day European Adventure included both cruising & land travel. I had a blast working on the set of "Caution: May Contain Nuts" in a ball scene where I got to done one of my many 18th century outfits; though I think my outfit may have been hired more than me. I was then contacted to work on a Venetian themed birthday party and have now been hired to help plan a New Year's Eve Gala that's a what? Venetian Masked Ball. I beginning to sense a theme and can't say that I mind. I love being able to bring a touch of Venice and my favourite celebration back to Edmonton. Who knew I'd get so much wear out of my powder wigs here!
